Ever date a guy that didn’t like lipstick? He probably liked the way it looked on you but not the way it rubbed off on him, especially if you use lip liner, lipstick and gloss like I do!

As much as I like to kiss I was not about to give up on beautifully colored lips for anyone and now I’ve learned that I don’t have to.

Last year my friend and colleague, Carine Fabius, sent out an email to all of us girls announcing a new, naturally derived, lip dye called Mehru that she was selling on her site Earth Henna. I was intrigued and knew that I wanted to try it out especially since I trust Carine’s aesthetic sensibilities.

It took me a while to get over to her studio to select some samples but now that I have I’m a convert.  I chose four colors: Pome Granate, Angel, Melt Down and my favorite – Chic!

After a bit of experimenting with how to apply the lip dye (they come with sponge Q-tip-like applicators) I came up with my own system: lip liner, lip stain (painted on with my trusty MAC lip brush that I can wash and re-use) and a dab of gloss for sheen.

The Mehru herbal lip dyes seriously lasts – through kisses and munching – they look amazing and are made of all natural ingredients!

I recently checked the Earth Henna website and noticed that Carine is carrying more colors so whether you’re dark brown, olive, or fair complexioned there’s a color that’s going to work for you.
